Getting to Know...T. Neely Stuckey • Administrative Pastor
Name: T. Neely Stuckey
Date/Birthplace: April 30, 1960 – Stuart, Florida
What do you do at Faith Church? A better response might be is what don't I do. My official title is Servant (the one I prefer), Associate/Youth Pastor
My Life Goal: My life goal is to grow in Christ daily and continue to seek Him and the awesome destiny that He has for me, to mentor, to preach the Kingdom message. And probably the main thing is to see people truly follow God, not as the bible says having a form of godliness but denying its power.
What is so special about Faith Church? FCC is special because we preach the truth from the Word of God without shame. But also the special bond of being a family of unconditional love. Jane said at the most recent picnic that when she came to FCC she felt like she came home, no church can have a higher compliment than that. Also we want to see people reach potential and that is encouraged and not discouraged.
Favorite Faith Church moment: Favorite moment, that is a tough one for sure, there have been so many. But I guess it would have been one of the all night events. You have to know how much I put the youth through with crazy and wacky games to get it, but here goes. I brought a bunch of the pool noodles to the event. Now I passed them out to the kids and told them some story that led to the fact that it was payback time for them in regard to me. I told them they had 2 minutes to beat me with the noodles and off I ran through the building. They thought they were killing me with them. I really never had the nerve to tell them that no matter how hard you swing them, it just doesn't hurt! And of course the many times we went out to do righteous vandalism (stories for another time).
Best day of your life: It sounds like a cliché answer, but it would have to be October 13, 1991, the day I accepted Christ. God did such a huge miracle in my life and has set me forth towards this destiny and in reality made every day the best day.
Proudest Accomplishment: Again there would be many, but I think two stand out: the day I received my Bachelors Degree and the time I preached for the first time, which was in Jamaica.
Favorite TV Show: Cops
Favorite Movie: Favorite movies is a super tough one, so many, but here are a few: Happy Gilmore, Tombstone, Joe Dirt, anything funny or action is usually good with me.
Favorite Meal: Well, not having missed too many meals, I would have to say my mom's Hamburger Stroganoff
Favorite Restaurant: The Ale House (zingers with well done fries and ranch dressing)
Favorite Books: The Bible of course and also The Devotional Shine by the Newsboys, Kingdom Principles by Dr. Myles Monroe and a book called The Rookie, about a rookie baseball player (I think that was the first book I ever read.)
Favorite Quote: "No matter where you go, there you are." (Bonus points for anyone who can tell me what movie that came from.) and I guess my favorite movie quote if you care is ...."We're gonna need a bigger boat."
What do you do in your free time? Free time? What's that? My passion outside of Church is of course tennis. I love to play and compete and I am blessed at 48 to still play at a high level. Golf, racquetball, anything with a ball. Peace and quiet.
Someday I hope to: Drive across the United States and visit all 48 continuous states and just check stuff out, all the stuff Ii haven't seen. Take my time and just cruise and go to Australia.
Things I am thankful for: I am thankful for family and true friends (John 15:13 – That there is no greater love than this, than he who would lay down his life for a friend.)
When I grow up I want to: Grow up? Not likely.
Greatest life lesson learned: Never take anything or person for granted, live life to its fullest and remember to tell people that you love them and that God loves them. Never assume, ask. Also always look above eye level, there is some cool stuff right there and most people miss it for lack of looking. Have someone in your life who is a mentor and that you can go to and share those deep feelings and realize that their motive is love and they are telling the truth. Seek your destiny, God has so much for each of us!!
Amazing or interesting fact about me: That I am ambidextrous which means I can use my left hand almost as well and perform task almost as well I can with my right hand (which is my dominant hand). I don't write as well but I can and I can play tennis left handed as well. I played Michelle Wilkes one time in table tennis and she never realized I played with my left hand until I pointed it out to her, and I won!
I will never try: SKYDIVING!!! I don't get jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
Most embarrassing moment: Fifteen years old ordering a double whopper in burger king, realizing I didn't mention the fact I wanted cheese on it. I blurted out "oh! Make that with meat," and as my friends and the other patrons were laughing at my expense, I was completely oblivious to what I said until my friend enlightened me. I wondered why the whole place was laughing.
Fun Fear: Is fear fun? Crabs-hate have no use for them, they are of the devil. Just look at them, ugly, claws, bunch of legs, beady eyes, oh yes, the devil I tell you.
